Introduction to RERA Act
The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA), is a landmark legislation that transformed the Indian real estate sector. Before RERA, home buyers had little protection against unscrupulous developers who delayed projects, made unauthorized changes, or failed to deliver. RERA established the Real Estate Regulatory Authority to regulate the sector and protect home buyers' interests. The Act applies to both residential and commercial real estate projects. Key objectives: mandatory registration of real estate projects, standardizing sale agreements, protecting buyer deposits, timely project completion, and establishing dispute resolution mechanisms. At Advocate in Asansol, we help home buyers enforce their rights under RERA. Our office at Asansol Court, Asansol, West Bengal - 713301. Call +91 7001486154.
